Heart placed on opposite end of name where swash falls to offset/balance/stablize the sign (some names will have a heart level with the name at the beginning or end of the name, most will have heart as pictured - please see description below).

*Lengths/heights may vary slightly with longer/shorter last names. For instance, 10+ character names could be approx 5 inch tall, 4 character names could be 12+ inch tall. Height is also determined by whether or not you have any hanging letters in your name such as y,j,p,q, etc.
General rule, the more letters a last name has, the shorter the height will be. it is always a good idea to take this into consideration when choosing sizes for longer surnames.

**Names without gaps between the bottom line & name will have hearts at beginning or end of name as there will be no place for the heart to sit under & no need to offset the balance of the wood letters & underline. Letters that do not swoop under - F, P, s, C, c, d, e, h, i, l, O, o, T, V, v, W, w - if your name begins & ends with these letters, there is a chance the heart will be placed level with the name at the beginning or end. Names that start with a Y, G, J & end with a y, g, j (or vice versa)**
